ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Father James Gilhooley is a priest of the archdiocese of New York.
His articles have appeared in America, The Critic, Christian Century, Commonwealth, National Catholic Reporter, Saturday Evening Post, The Tablet(London), The Month(London), Homiletic and Pastoral Review, etc.
He has reviewed books for the National Catholic News Service for many years.
He is also the author of “Reflections on the Sunday Gospels” now in its third edition as well as “Priests and Other Heroes.” The first edition of the latter is sold out. His homilies appear at www.homilies.net. They are also available on CD.
His original work among New York City’s poor has been featured in The New York Times, LIFE, New York Magazine, New York Post, Catholic Digest, etc. It has been discussed on television and radio.
He had his own weekly interview show for many years on WOR-TV. He also wrote a weekly column for a New York City newspaper. He lives in the village of Montgomery, New York.
